MST3K: Shorts, Volume 3

Mystery Science Theater 3000 Presents: Shorts, Volume 3.

Speech: Using Your Voice, from experiment 313, Earth vs. the Spider.
Aquatic Wizards, from experiment 315, Teenage Cave Man.
Is This Love?, from episode 514, Teen-age Strangler.
Design for Dreaming, from episode 524, 12 to the Moon.
The Selling Wizard, from experiment 603, The Dead Talk Back (previously reviewed here).
Out of This World, from experiment 618, High School Big Shot.
Once Upon a Honeymoon, from experiment 701, Night of the Blood Beast.

NOTE: This was only available as a bonus disc for a limited time after The Essentials was released, and only through one website, which I cannot locate at this time. Please watch eBay in case a copy with the bonus disc is put up for auction.

A decent mix of mental hygiene shorts and sponsored films (General Motors, Anheuser-Busch and DuPont) round out the rare third disc of shorts. I actually enjoy the sponsored shorts better, especially Out of This World, which involves a struggle between a devil and an angel over how the best way supermarkets should sell bread of all things. Design for Dreaming was GM's view of how futuristic cars would look back in 1956. Too bad they didn't foresee their own problems over the past year or so.

Recommended DVD, if you can find it!
