This is probably the funniest movie about golf ever made. This is also the favorite film of none other than Tiger Woods.

Danny Noonan (O'Keefe) comes from a Roman Catholic family with a lot of siblings and modest means. He aspires to go to college in Nebraska, but his parents can't afford it, and his grades aren't that good to begin with, so a scholarship would be difficult to get. In the meantime, he works as a caddy at an upscale golf course called Bushwood Country Club. Danny often caddies for Ty Webb (Chase), who often teaches him about the finer points of life while pulling off tricky golf shots.

Judge Smails (Knight) is a club co-founder, a no-nonsense, by-the-book jurist who is incensed to find out that there's a gopher (Chuck Rodent as Mr. Gopher) ruining sections of the course. He dispatches one of his employees to tell the somewhat unhinged greenskeeper Carl Spackler (Murray) to do whatever he can to get rid of the gopher, providing us with a decent sub-plot. Real estate tycoon Al Czervik (Dangerfield) comes by later that day with a guest, and immediately gets on the bad side of Judge Smails. He continues to needle Smails during subsequent games.

Danny learns from his boss (Doyle-Murray) that the country club's caddy scholarship has become available again after its previous winner died of an anxiety attack while at school. He decides to caddy for Judge Smails to kiss up to him for when the next time he awards a scholarship.

Can Danny win that desired scholarship? Can Carl get rid of the gopher once and for all?

Highly, highly recommended.
